Message from Sputnik TMRA2 Chariman 9-3-05:
I sent Laddie a message to get
any information I could on the predicament of our Eastern Bros.Laddie is
a past
president
of
ABATE
and
is
on the NCOM
Board of Directors.
This was his response:
Thanks Brother We are all doing good so far and everyone I have been able
to get in touch
with has found a place to stay for the time being. I will certainly pass
along your offer to everyone in ABATE. Have a couple of Brothers staying
with me, have the motorhome with generator so can stay in it and keep the
ref/freezer going and can power up my water well. Just heard this morning
that we should have power back on tomorrow morning and that comes from
a good source.

If anyone know of a family needing a place to stay, Enlighten
Ministries has room to take in one family. This is in the Northwest area
of town in houston. For further information contact Trish at Nurturing Dreams
Foundation. Also Nurturing Dreams has been donated - an offer for a family
in need. To any family whom does not have relatives/friends here in Houston
and
has no where to go. Someone whom will make all efforts to regain stability this
offer goes out to them.
Free stay and a weekly rate hotel up to 30 days, all necessary bills paid. The
person whom is granted this offer, will need to report activities as for making
efforts in stabilizing and relocating. This may be extended depending on efforts
put forth.

To all Texas Bikers and Friends:
The Texas Motorcycle Rights Assoication is providing an update of
places to go and places to stay for those who have lost their homes in
Louisana, Alabama, and Mississippi. We have been sent many e-mails we
are keeping from bikers who have land and/or are willing to take in
families for maybe months on end. Because of the great need to help our
southern brothers and sisters, I have started "Operation take in a
family".. If you are willing to take in even one person, one family,
even pets,
until they can get back on their feet, which maybe several months, we
want to hear from you. We need bikers and friends in Houston, Dallas,
Austin, and San Antonio, wherever. We need bikers who have land,
ranches, camp grounds, anywhere we can place people and have them fed
and confortable after going through this horrible ordeal.
You can contact me, Terri Williams, at 512-971-8777, or Sputnik at
512-971-6777. Our office number is 1-800-391-7608, or local Austin
area call 512-281-0537. my E-mail addresses are unseenpast@aol.com,
tmra2secretary.org or Sputnik's e-mail at chairman@tmra2.org.
We also need e-mail addresses and phones numbers sent for any biker clubs
and/or groups in these three states so we can get the word out to them when
their phones are working that we have places for them to stay in the central
Texas area.
We all know that if this happened to Texas, the people of Louisana and surrounding
states would take us in their homes IN A HEART BEAT. We need to do the same
for them!!!!!

Can you pass this to LACOC?
Date: Thu, 1 Sep 2005 19:52:40 EDT
ABATE of FLA as well as myself and a few others have been trying to get ahold
of LACOC to see if we can get some Brothers and Sisters out of
there. I am ready, gassed up with supplies, and have room for one family
in the house, one on the Fla room as well as 1/2 acre to camp on. The Prez
of ABATE has set a place up in the Panhandle, 3 acres. We cant get folks
if we dont know where they are. Can you send this along to the LACOC and
Missisippi COC and anyone else in those areas that you think might need help?
I'll be able to get in further then most with Red Cross identification.

Also we would like to encourage all of those who are able , please concider
adopting a family , individual or child in need from these afflicted areas
. Any assisance that you could extend to these familys would be greatly
appiciated and would no doubt , save a life. Though sponcering
a family would indeed be a challenging endevor ,please remeber that
these people have nothing , no food , no water , no personal hygene
facilities , protection from violence or shelter from the elements .
Even a small effort or the smallest donation would mean a great deal to those
who find themselves in this situation and could mean the diffrence between
life or death .
It would be a small sacrifice for a Club , Organization , Buisness, Church
or individual family to work together, to put a family , individual or child
up long enough for them to get on thier feet , find employment ,get thier
children in school and recieve much needed medical attention . We urge
you to do all you are able and Thank those who have done so much . Any donations
of tents , camping supplies would be greatly welcomed as well . Thank You

From: Newton County Chamber of Commerce
Date: Tuesday, August 30, 2005
"
A significant number of hurricane victims have settled at the Baptist encampment
in Newton. An official shelter was set up there by the Red Cross. The encampment
is being secured by the Texas State Guard... a unit of about 30 from Katy
Texas. The encampment has been opened and operated by Joyce Davis, Mother
of Bro Wayne Davis who is out of town. I talked with Capt Mike, the CO of
the Guard, and to Joyce.
Things are going well there. They have plenty of food right now to feed all
of the people that they have ( I would guess slightly under 100 based on
the number of cars). However, she would much appreciate the supplying of
cakes and other desserts that would make the families' stays much more comfortable.
There are a lot of kids. If you would like to contribute a cake, it would
be appreciated by the people who are staying there. It would be good chance
for us to show our Newton Hospitality to those who are unfortunate. Many
will go home to nothing.
Also, they are expecting the movement of 150-200 more folks from Jasper over
to the encampment. People are spread out, and it would be easier to take
care of these Sojourners if they were all in one spot. If that happens, and
it seems likely... Joyce says they will be short of bed sheets, pillows,
and bath towels. There is also a shortage of basic toiletries such as bath
soap, shampoo, deodorant, and toothpaste. The beds are bunk beds, so any
sized sheet will work. If you put your name on the sheets, they will be returned.
If you can contribute any of the above, you can take them directly to the
encampment, Orange Savings Bank or you can take them to the county extension
office in the old-old hospital, and I will see that they get delivered."

I am down in Biloxi, my home town, and trying to get in to check on my parents
and family. I evacuated when the storm approached, they did not. The pictures
do not do anything to show how horrible this is.
There are injured people everywhere and tens of thousands of people with
no where to go and no way to leave. I've heard the news people and others
say why didn't these people leave. What's wrong with them? I stayed on the
coast
during Camille, now after Katrina
the second worst hurricane. When you live 5 or six miles inland,
you feel that the only thing you have to worry about is tornados
and wind
damage. When all of a sudden the seas double what they were predicted
to do and now you have water 6 to 8 miles inland, well you're
screwed and
you loose everything. Your house, car, food, water, clothes, and sometimes
even your life. This thing was way bigger then expected.
If you can not give money, give blood or something to help and give it now.
If you donate cash, please mark it as for the hurricane relief. This is an
American tragedy and we really need to help if we can. Most of these
people are very hard working Americans and have always helped other
areas in time of need. Mississippi doesn't even have enough National Guard
to help because they have the highest percentage of troops in
Iraq of all the nations Guard units.
Anything you can donate would greatly be appreciated by everyone here.
